About Me
Hi!
My name is Karen and I am a certified Elementary school teacher and TOC (teacher on call) for Surrey District 36. Currently, I teach a lovely bunch of Grade 5's as well as spend most of my days teaching at different schools in Surrey from K-7. I have years of experience working with children ages 3 and above. I've volunteered in classrooms, worked as a child care assistant in Burquitlam, and worked at Kumon Vancouver South for several years. I have my BA from SFU in Psychology (2015) as well as my B.Ed teaching certificate from UBC (2017/2018). I've successfully completed my practicum in a Kindergarten classroom in Vancouver.I currently reside in Vancouver, BC with my family. I love animals, being outdoors (biking, going on walks, exploring nature, etc), visiting new places within and outside of my community, attending music concerts, watching documentaries and docuseries, reading memoirs and trying new types of food. I also really enjoy participating in city events such as attending craft markets, farmer markets and themed events with friends! I am very passionate about making more environmentally conscious decisions (I'm still working on it!) and practicing kindness and gratitude as much as I can.
